British Larch with it's good durability, rot and insect resistant makes it a ideal timber for decking. It will deal with being exposed to foot traffic and the British weather. We hand select the boards which are best suited to use as decking.

How long should British Larch Decking Last?

With a Durability Class 4 as per BS 8417 (please see durability chart by clicking here), correctly installed a service life of at least 15 years is expected. With application of a good quality decking oil (following the manufactures instructions on re apply) and maintenance twice that can be achieved.

Larch decking require no treatment once laid but a lot of our customers choose to apply a good quality decking oil to preserve the look and natural beauty whist adding additional weather resistance. If left to naturally age it will turn a silvery grey.

Stainless steal nails or screws fixing should be used.

Our decking boards are planed with a radius edge supplied untreated and can be stained and finished with standard varnishes, oils or waxes. It's a great alternative to pressure treated softwood decking.
